Antennas Direct To exhibit at NAB 2008
The future for small antenna designs,
Announce NAB partnership for smart antenna Development,
and tv Broadcaster*s Partner program

To Include The First In A Series of
Compact Highly Efficient Indoor And Outdoor Antennas,
And A National Program To Support Off-Air TV Reception

March 21, 2008, St. Louis, MO 每 At the NAB trade show next month, Antennas Direct will release preliminary details on a signed partnership with the NAB to develop a new CEA909A compliant Indoor Off-Air Smart Antenna?. They will also introduce several new Off-Air antennas, to include the ClearStream2?, their newest and best long range outdoor antenna. Advanced computer software was used to design this compact (10§x20§) high performance antenna. And they will also exhibit the new Lacrosse? Micron? DTV antenna, a true breakthrough in indoor design. It is over 90% efficient and all in a very small 10§x10§ Radome; it*s rabbit ears on steroids. Also, Antennas Direct will announce a fully supported TV Broadcast Partners Program.

NAB's FASTROAD (Flexible Advanced Services for Television and Radio On All Devices) technology advocacy program recently awarded a contract to Antennas Direct to develop an indoor Smart Antenna. The Consumer Electronics Association CE-909A Smart Antenna interface standard has laid the groundwork that could make the "antenna reception dance" a welcome distant memory. The interface standard was recently revised, allowing a smart television receiver to communicate with Antennas Direct's Off-Air Smart Antenna over the RF antenna cable to automatically optimize gain and antenna pattern for best reception. "We were impressed with both the expertise and the enthusiasm at Antennas Direct for potentially improving consumer satisfaction with reception of Off-Air TV service," said Lynn Claudy, NAB's Senior Vice President, Science and Technology. "Smart antenna technology can make a huge difference in the overall consumer experience, allowing access to all local television signals without having to spend a lot of time aiming or re-aiming antennas. This technology could be a real game-changer."

The ClearStream2 Off-Air antennas represent a unique breakthrough in size and unmatched ultra efficient design and directionality. Advanced computer aided design software was used in the production of these compact 10§x20§ antennas. The ClearStream2 Dual Loop design provides high efficiency and allows more than 90% of the available broadcast signal to actually reach the incoming antenna cable rather than being lost to impedance mismatches.

The Lacrosse Micron Indoor antenna also represents a breakthrough indoor design. It has a maximum gain of 8dBi in only a 10§x10§ form and is 98% efficient at 525 MHz. For the 75% or more of Off-Air households having only set-top antennas and pay-TV subscribers looking for an indoor backup, an alternative to cable or satellite or a digital reception solution for second TV sets, the Micron is the answer.

Both antennas were designed specifically for the post 2009 UHF DTV frequencies but also offer nominal reception of high VHF channels.

The FCC recently put out their Order on DTV Education, which requires broadcasters to provide prescribed DTV education elements or to agree to adhere to NAB's voluntary "safe harbor" program. The messages will include information on reception equipment requirements. Antennas Direct*s Broadcast Partners Program is an Off-Air antenna marketing program that will aid station viewers in selecting and purchasing the right digital antenna. This antenna selection process is especially helpful in metro/urban areas where viewers may not have a clear line-of-sight to the station*s tower, or in outlying fringe areas.

Each participating station will receive a map of the station*s coverage area, with a graphic overlay of Antennas Direct*s antenna selector, to assist viewers in finding the right antenna for specific locations. A selection of specially priced digital antenna bundles will be sent to participating stations for testing. The bundles will include the new Micron and new ClearStream2 antennas. Antennas Direct will also design, at no cost to the station, an antenna web site page for participating station or place a ※Purchase§ link from their web site to their personal station page, hosted free on Antennas Direct*s website.

By participating in the program, stations offer their viewers an opportunity to upgrade to a better performing, better looking and smaller digital age antenna. In addition, they can increase viewer numbers by convincing satellite and cable subs to consider Off-Air as a backup source for Satellite and Cable outages. In some cases, viewers may find Off-Air a viable alternative to the ever-increasing costs and aggravation of cable and satellite. Antenna sales generated through the station provide commissions to them to help stations recoup some of their investment in the Digital transition.

Antennas Direct sales continue to increase dramatically
as Off-air antennas become the new necessity

More Sophisticated Antennas Required
For Digital Off-Air Signal Reception For 117 Million TV Sets
Not Connected To Cable Or Satellite Video Networks

March 1, 2008, St. Louis, MO 每 As spending tightens in these uncertain economic times, discretionary purchasing has shifted away from other key market categories, to consumer electronics and particularly to digital TV and HD. High Definition Televisions bumped digital cameras out of the top spot for the most desired CE product for 2007. Several dynamics are affecting millions of households now relying on analog signals for reception of their broadcast TV signals, with antennas older than 2 years. They need to upgrade to the new antenna technology, along with cable and satellite customers looking for alternatives. This has resulted in tremendous sales increases of OTA antennas for Antennas Direct. Although cable and satellite program providers will continue to serve the great majority of homes as the primary signal source, missing HD local reception, higher costs, billing add-ons, service outages, contact difficulties, in-home service waits and no shows have left many subscribers looking to OTA antennas as alternatives and backup.

Richard Schneider, President of Antennas Direct said ※Our antenna sales for the first two months of 2008 are up 125% over this time last year, a year that in itself that was up 60% over 2006. The simple fact is that not all antennas are equal, some are better and some are the best for particular reception situations. This shift in consumer spending could not have come at a better time for us, because of the tremendous improvements in our Off-Air antenna technology and design that have taken place in the last few years, allowing us to offer the best OTA antennas for the HD revolution.§

According to an article in Ad Age ※As Giant Retailers Reel, Marketers Gird for Worst§, as to Consumer Electronics, the news appears very positive. ※Consumers seem to have designated technology as a new necessity, along with food, gasoline and home-heating oil" said the Consumer Electronics Association*s group economist, Shawn DuBravac. Ad Age continued ※Forecasts for 2008 from the CEA and other CE researchers such as iSuppli bear that out, with predictions of overall electronics growth.§ "Last year, when oil prices were going through the roof, we saw that people said, 'Since we're not traveling, let's spend some of that money on buying a flat-panel TV,'" said iSuppli analyst Riddih Patel.

There are more than 40 million households currently receiving OTA analog signals in the U.S., according to new proprietary research just released by Centris (www.centris.com), a leading market research firm. They said this number represents a ※large opportunity for#manufacturers and distributors of "smart" television antennas#requir(ing) #more sophisticated (OTA) antennas.§ Centris surveys reveal that 75% or more of over-the-air households have only set-top antennas. ※The effect will have extensive ramifications, not only among consumers, but also electronics retailers and manufacturers who can expect an influx of costly returns when it is realized that the converter boxes and new digital TV's don't work," says Barry Goodstadt, Senior Vice President of Centris.

To viewers already receiving a cable or satellite network, the benefits of Off-Air antennas are compelling. There is only so much room on cable or satellite bandwidth in which to squeeze signal, so data is compressed to fit, resulting in a somewhat "soft" picture. An OTA signal is the gold standard in digital reception because it's almost completely uncompressed and also FREE. Local digital TV broadcasts are everywhere. But bandwidth limitations force cable and satellite providers to not carry all local channels in many areas, or may not offer all of them in high definition. Contract disagreements between local cable operators and local broadcasters mean that major networks may not be available in several areas. DISH Network? offers local HD coverage to about 47 percent of U.S. markets, while DIRECTV reaches about 76 percent, but for an additional monthly fee.

※What about those other millions of viewers who want to see their favorite local shows and in HD§ asks Schneider ※The answer is to add an OTA antenna to other signal reception sources§. This not only gives a viewer the ability to receive all their local stations, but, with the right digital antenna and location, some viewers may even be able to receive out-of-town channels, carrying blacked out sports programs or network broadcasts not available in their home town. As an added benefit, an OTA antenna provides back-up reception options for local cable or satellite signal loss due to equipment failure or rain, snow and ice fade and to smaller TVs and second sets in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution.

Antennas Direct Introduces new clearstream2
Outdoor long-Range Digital TV Antenna

The First In A Series of Compact Highly Efficient Antennas
Designed and Optimized for 2009 Digital TV Frequencies

February 1, 2008, St. Louis, MO 每 Antennas Direct announced today the introduction of the ClearStream? series of HDTV antennas, starting with the ClearSteam2, their newest antenna design. ClearStream antennas represent a new breakthrough in size and unmatched ultra efficient design and directionality. Advanced computer software allow these 10§ by 20§ antennas to be smaller than ever thought possible. They are powerful across the entire DTV spectrum offering consistent high gain. This advancement in antenna efficiency allows up to 98% of the available broadcast signal to actually reach the incoming antenna cable rather than being lost to impedance mismatches. With other compact antennas, as little as 10% of the signal may actually reach the tuner. The ClearStream2 Dual Loop design receives all UHF channels available and higher level VHF frequencies with a range of about 55 miles. They are engineered for extra strength and durability, using anodized aluminum for corrosion resistance and are easy to assemble.

And if that*s not enough, the ClearStream2 delivers TV signals from widely located (spaced) broadcast towers. Normally, when TV towers are spaced more than 30 degrees apart, looking from a viewer*s home, an antenna rotor is recommended. This new antenna has an extremely wide 90 degree beamwidth pattern (front signal searching area). Working with the newest generation 4 and 5 ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) chip sets incorporated in newer digital and HDTV tuners, that mitigate multi-path (bounced signals that confuse the tuner), the ClearStream2 delivers digitally perfect multiple station signals. Orders are being taken now for these antennas, due to be available later in early March, with a mid-range and ultra long-range design in this series to follow shortly thereafter.

Richard Schneider, President of Antennas Direct, said ※We*ve found ourselves right in the middle of a thriving resurgence of Over-The-Air (OTA) antennas. Our business is doubling about every 180 days. And HDTV sales have had a great deal to do with our sales increases, along with our 90 day ※No Fault§ guarantee. If our antenna doesn*t do for you what we say it will, send it back and get a refund.§ And how hot is HD? High Definition Televisions bumped digital cameras out of the top spot for the most desired CE product for 2007.

GSSI?/Toptronics In Co-Operation With Antennas Direct
develops new Digital UHF/VHF
Indoor High Definition Amplified TV Antenna

Offering Patented Design For Exceptional
Metro/Urban/Suburban Off-Air Digital Reception, Including Fringe Locations

May 13, 2008, Cumming GA - GSSI/Toptronics and Antennas Direct announced today the roll-out of the new DA-001 indoor antenna with a patented element and low noise amplifier designed for digital signal reception. The DA-001 is smaller (12"X8"X13"), more powerful and better looking and was designed to receive both VHF and UHF signals (channels 2 to 69). The DA-001 was designed and patented in conjunction with Antennas Direct for the best in digital/HD Off-Air reception. It works exceptionally well with both the new digital ATSC TV tuner chips and old analog NTSC TV tuner chip. The built-in special low noise Amplifier was computer designed by Toptronics using advanced digital signal generating software to match the reception elements for extended reception up to 50 miles and farther, depending on location and obstructions, for all local analog, digital and HDTV broadcasts in the Frequency Range of 55~862 MHz. Yagi and rabbit ears have technology roots going back 30 to 50 years or more and are not sophisticated enough to deal with digital reception.

Jerry Scarborough, President GSSI, part of the US Toptronics Group said ※In our conversations with Broadcast stations, Converter box and HDTV manufactures, we saw a need for a better designed indoor Off-Air digital antenna. The old UHF/VHF antennas (※Rabbit Ears§) and most of the antennas on the market today, advertised as ※HD Ready§, have relied on updated and outdated analogue technology to try to capture digital signals. There have been article*s written saying old ※Rabbit Ears§ will work. They will, if you*re close enough to the Broadcast tower without line-of-sight obstructions and then, you still might not get all the stations available.§

However, it is unlikely that the 75% of viewers now using indoor Off-Air antennas will get all of the digital broadcast signals available using an older antenna. Unlike the sine wave analogue signal, digital signals are harder to capture. With analogue, you could receive a signal even if it was weak. With Digital and HD signals, you have to capture all of the digital signal data to get a picture.

Richard Schneider, President of Antennas Direct said ※The switch to digital broadcasts is bringing consumers back to Off-Air antennas and our increasing sales are providing the motivation and investments capital necessary to develop new models and new technology like the DA-001. Most antenna designs on the market now were developed prior to the advent of much of the computer technology, software and algorithms we use today. These new tools provided us the means to improve upon tried and true designs and design completely new ones.§

All broadcast signal reception depend on the strength of the broadcast signal, distance from the tower, weather, terrain, obstructions, design of the antenna and the installation process. All of these can affect the quality of received TV pictures and sound. If an analog signal is weak, the result is usually a snowy or distorted picture. With digital signals, you either have a great viewable picture or no picture at all. And Multi-path (bounced signals) makes digital reception by older antennas very difficult, especially in metro/urban locations.

Cable and satellite program providers will continue to serve the great majority of homes as the primary signal source, but missing HD local reception, compression issues effecting picture quality, higher costs, billing add-ons, service outages, contact difficulties, in-home service waits and no shows have left many subscribers looking to OTA antennas as alternatives and backup. OTA antennas receive local stations, including multi-cast programming adding several additional local off-air programs. Some viewers may even be able to receive out-of-town channels, carrying blacked out sports programs or network broadcasts not available in their home town.

Demand For Free HD Over-The-Air Broadcasts
Spurring Tremendous Growth In Antenna Sales
For Antennas Direct

Sales Increased 220% 3Q 2007 Over 3Q 2006
As Cable TV Looses 1.1 Million Subscribers

December 3, 2007, St. Louis, MO 每The cable industry has lost over one million subscribers this year, suggesting a year ending with a 2 percent loss of market share, as reported recently in several newspapers, trade magazines and Internet newsletters. Some of the declines actually surprised Wall Street. But they didn*t surprise Richard Schneider, President of Antennas Direct, whose new Terrestrial Digital brand of antenna sales tripled during the same period. Schneider said ※Because of the tremendous improvements in our Off-Air antenna technology and design that have taken place in the last few years, along with changing customer attitudes and needs in the new and highly competitive digital TV and HD era, we*ve found ourselves right in the middle of a thriving resurgence of Over-The-Air (OTA) antennas. Research projects that 15 percent of TV households and 23 percent of TV sets in U.S. homes don*t receive cable or satellite TV. That represents more than 70 million TV sets that only receive OTA broadcast television. It*s no wonder our phones are ringing off the hook.§

Schneider continued ※Two of the reasons suggested by most business reporters for the decline in cable numbers are TV subscribers switching to Satellite (DBS) and the emergence of telco TV. While partially true, telco numbers are much too small to be a significant factor, but a meaningful percentage of these cable TV losses come from unhappy cable customers switching to OTA antennas and dumping cable*s hundreds of unwatched channels in favor of getting all their favorite local broadcasts FREE. Cable companies are stumbling with penetration percentages hitting a 17-year low. A significant number of cable subscribers are finally getting enough of cable TV*s higher costs, billing add-ons, service outages, contact difficulties, aggravating half-day in-home service waits and no shows, resulting in lost customers, while our business is doubling about every 180 days§

On November 29, 2007, The Bridge Data Group reported overall ※customer satisfaction§ with DBS at 72% and cable at only 58% and the ※likelihood to switch§ for both at 10%. These numbers might have accounted recently for the ※attack§ on a Comcast payment center in Virginia by a 75 year-old hammer wielding grandmother.

And it*s not only problems with Cable (and Satellite) providers that have caused this dramatic OTA antenna sales increase. The benefits of Off-Air antennas are compelling and numerous. There is only so much room on cable or satellite bandwidth in which to squeeze signal, so data is compressed to fit, resulting in a somewhat "soft" picture. An OTA signal is the gold standard in digital reception because it's completely uncompressed and also FREE; good news for the millions of homes not using cable or satellite. But what about those cable or satellite subscribers that want access to all their local broadcasts or all available HD local broadcasts, but can*t get them from their present provider.

Local digital TV broadcasts are everywhere. And how hot is HD? High Definition Televisions bumped digital cameras out of the top spot for the most desired CE product for 2007. But bandwidth limitations mean that cable and satellite providers may not carry all local channels in many areas, or may not offer all of them in high definition. Contract disagreements between local cable operators and local broadcasters can mean that major networks may not be available via cable TV in several areas. DISH Network? offers local HD coverage to about 47 percent of U.S. markets, while DIRECTV? reaches about 65 percent, but for an additional monthly fee.

※What about those other millions of viewers who want to see their favorite local shows and in HD§ asks Schneider? ※The answer is to add an OTA antenna to other signal reception sources§. This not only gives a viewer the ability to receive all their local stations, but, with the right Terrestrial Digital antenna, some viewers may even be able to receive out-of-town channels, which may carry blacked out sports programs or network broadcasts not available in their home town. For lower income families, an OTA antenna may be the only alternative. As an added benefit, an OTA antenna provides back-up reception options for local cable or satellite signal loss due to equipment failure or rain, snow and ice fade and to smaller TVs and second sets in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution.

The Consumer Electronics Association, which does not track antenna sales, puts antennas in their accessory category. Accessory Try getting an OTA broadcast signal without one.

Antennapoint.com announces new easy-to-use
Off-air broadcast tower locator

Clearly Displays All Reachable Towers
And Complete Station Details For Correct Antenna Selection

May 1, 2008, St. Louis, MO 每 Antennapoint.com today announced the launch of its new Off-Air broadcast station locator web site after two years of planning and programming. The first step in the antenna selection process is to determine which stations are available and which ones are wanted. In this initial Phase I of an ongoing project, after entering a City, State, Zip Code, or Address in one box, a map, not only displays local stations, but also shows the entire reception area in a much larger scale than other locators, showing all cities within an Off-Air antennas reception area. This will prove to be very helpful. With the right antenna, using this locator, viewers may even be able to locate and receive broadcast signals from cities located nearby, carrying blacked out sports programs, network broadcasts or programs in HD not available in their home town.

Station call letters, network affiliation, their analog and digital channel numbers, band allocation (UHF or VHF), broadcast power, city location of the broadcast tower, distance in miles and compass heading from their input location are all available. By placing the cursor on a station tower located on the map, this information is repeated, without having to scroll down to the chart. Other sites are more technical in their approach. Antennapoint.com was designed for the typical consumer. People will like this site, because it*s easy to use and understand. It offers the basic information to the viewing public to be able to enjoy all of the free digital programming already available to them today.

Choosing the right antenna for the broadcast choices is key. Most antennas that are returned to sellers are working fine. The customer simply chose or was sold the wrong antenna for the job.
David K. Rehr, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President and CEO said, "With the proper antenna, consumers can receive free, over-the-air digital broadcasts with higher picture and sound quality and access to multiple channels of free programming. Broadcast viewers can also access interactive video and data services that are not possible with traditional analog technology, including enhanced closed-captioning."

Over the next several months, enhancements will be added, along with additional functionality. But in its present form, it is a very intuitive and useful tool to help choose the right antenna and to point it correctly for the best reception. With its simplicity and ease of use, the antennapoint.com website will make this a preferred option over exiting services.

Cable and satellite program providers will continue to serve the great majority of homes as the primary signal source, but missing HD local reception, compression issues resulting in lost data bits, higher costs, billing add-ons, service outages, contact difficulties, in-home service waits and no shows have left many subscribers looking to ※over the air§ (OTA) antennas as alternatives and as a backup option.? OTA antennas receive all local DTV/HDTV stations, including multi-cast programming adding numerous free additional local off-air programs in every market.

As an added benefit, an OTA antenna provides reception for second sets in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution.

Worst Cable TV Horror Story
WiLL win A 42§ Plasma HDTV and Antenna
From Antennas Direct
plus $1,000 For Stress Counseling

Best Verified Story Wins TV First Prize
Nine Other Winners Of Antennas To Be Selected

December 20, 2007, St. Louis, MO 每 As reported a few days ago by the Bridge Data Group, overall customer satisfaction with cable TV stands at only 58%. The 75 year-old hammer wielding grandmother who ※attacked§ a Comcast payment center in Virginia might be considered to be in the other 42%. Richard Schneider, President of Antennas Direct said ※We hope this is an isolated incident, but we know that Cable TV has lost 1.1 Million Subscribers recently. At the same time, our new Antennas Direct brand of antennas* are doubling in sales about every 180 days. We first thought that these dramatic sales increases were the result of recognition of improvements in our Off-Air (OTA) antenna technology and design. But then, we began hearing more and more cable TV horror stories from our new antenna customers. They told us they were dumping Cable TV because they*d had enough of higher costs, billing add-ons, service outages, contact difficulties, aggravating half-day in-home service waits and no-shows. And from posts on blogs, we also know that cable TV subscribers have had even worse experiences. So we decided we*d see just how bad it is out there, short of the use of hammers.§

To that end, Antennas Direct is having a contest to find the ten worst cable TV horror stories. The best of the worst verified story teller will receive a 42§ Plasma HDTV and an Antennas Direct digital antenna, selected to allow them to receive the most digital Off-Air stations for their location. Schneider continued ※And to help them get over their feelings of anger and frustration, the winner will also receive $1,000 for stress counseling.§ Nine other winners will get an Antennas Direct HDTV digital antenna. All the stories will be posted on the Antennas Direct web site.

It*s not only basic problems with Cable TV (or even Satellite DBS) providers that have caused this dramatic OTA antenna sales increase. Because local digital TV broadcasts are now everywhere, a meaningful percentage of new antenna buyers are adding an OTA antenna to other signal reception sources. Cable subscribers that want access to all their favorite local broadcasts or all available HD local broadcasts FREE, but can*t get them from their present service provider, are buying OTA antennas. And how hot is HD?§ High Definition Televisions bumped digital cameras out of the top spot for the most desired CE product for 2007.

Bandwidth limitations mean that cable providers may not carry all local channels in many areas or may not offer all the high definition available. While not a horror story, contract disagreements between local cable operators and local broadcasters can mean that major networks may not be available via cable TV in some areas. And with the right antenna, OTA viewers may even be able to receive several out-of-town broadcasts, which may carry blacked out sports programs, network broadcasts not available in their home town or their favorite show in HD, FREE. Schneider added, ※they can purchase an HD antenna for a one-time fee that*s probably the same as, or less than, just one month*s cable bill.

For lower income families, an OTA antenna may be the only alternative. Those viewers are going to want to be able to receive all the local digital broadcasts that the right Off-Air antenna can deliver after the digital change-over.

As an added benefit, an OTA antenna provides back-up reception options for local cable or satellite signal loss due to equipment failure or rain, snow and ice fade or to smaller TVs and second sets in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution. Also, there is only so much room on cable bandwidth in which to squeeze signals, so data is compressed to fit, resulting in a somewhat "soft" picture.

Research projects that 15 percent of TV households and 23 percent of TV sets in U.S. homes don*t receive cable or satellite TV. That represents more than 70 million TV sets that only receive OTA broadcast television. An OTA signal is the gold standard in digital reception because it's almost completely uncompressed and also FREE; good news for those 70 million homes not using cable or satellite.

Cable Horror Stories should be submitted to cablehorror@antennasdirect.com by January 20, 2008. Submissions may also be made on antennasdirect.com. Antennas Direct will post all stories on their website and announce the lucky verified winners on January 26, 2007.? Rules and eligibility information is available at antennasdirect.com.

♂ DON*T LEAVE TV INSTALLATION DOLLARS ON THE TABLE

While You*re On-Sight, Maximize Your Profits
By Selling And Installing One Of The Newer And Smaller OTA Antennas
To Supplement New Cable Or Satellite Service

While cable and satellite program providers will continue to serve the great majority of homes as the primary signal source, many of these subscribers are looking for an Off-Air antenna to supplement their cable and satellite service and/or find a digital antenna for those second or third TV sets, in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution. Much of the expense in installing cable and satellite is in the truck roll. Carrying a newer and smaller OTA indoor and outdoor antenna on the truck, with greatly improved performance, power and aesthetics, gives installers the opportunity to make an additional sale while on sight.

You have seen that this Off-Air option is already being used by many, so that cable or satellite subs, depending on their location, can also receive out-of-town local channels, carrying blacked out sports programs, several additional sub-channels, network broadcasts not available locally and HD broadcasts not available locally from some cable or satellite providers in several areas.

This also applies to new installs you roll up on with an antenna on the roof or an indoor antenna. Most designs in use now were developed prior to the advent of much of the computer technology, software and algorithms in common use today which left open numerous avenues to improve upon tried and true designs and develop new ones.

Offer to replace them.

And you are right. Antennas can*t tell the difference between analog and digital signals, but there are definitely certain models which have higher DTV batting averages than others. Don*t let anyone tell you that all antennas are equally suited for DTV. A percentage of viewers will require something a little more tailored for DTV reception. The ClearStream series is one of them.

Why is the new ClearStream from Antennas Direct? the antenna you should consider

The ClearStream Series represents a new breakthrough in efficiency and size. The first all new antennas optimized for the post 2009 digital frequencies. Ultra efficient design now allows powerful antennas to be smaller than ever thought possible.

Popular antennas may claim high ※peak§ gains on specific frequencies, but the ClearStream models are consistently powerful across the entire DTV spectrum. With other compact antennas as little as 10% of the signal may actually reach the tuner. Advancements in efficiency mean that up to 98% of the signal actually makes it to the line rather than being lost to impedance mismatches.

ClearStream1 (indoor, outdoor and attic use)

High gain and compact design offer excellent gain and impedance matching across the whole post 2009 DTV spectrum. The ClearStream1 is vastly superior to the existing compact antennas for receiving DTV signals. Good directivity at all frequencies with a peak gain of 8 dB. Provides substantial performance gains over commonly available compact antennas.

ClearStream2 (Great for indoor, outdoor and attic use)

The ClearStream 2 antenna represents a new breakthrough in size and unmatched ultra efficient design and gain.  Advanced design software allows these 10" x 20" antennas to be smaller and more powerful across the entire DTV spectrum offering consistent high gain. With the efficiency of the C2 you can have range and power normally found in antennas up to 5 times the size in a compact and attractive form. The C2 delivers TV signals from widely located broadcast towers and offers flexible aiming characteristics with an extremely wide beam width of 70 degrees.

ClearStream4 (Great for indoor, outdoor and attic use)

Ultra long range performance in the size. Great for viewers in poor signal areas who need a powerful and compact antenna.

  • Range: up to 65 miles
  • Gain of 14.8 dBi
  • Consistent gain through the entire DTV channel spectrum
  • Totally new engineering for post-2009 DTV frequencies
  • Dimensions 19§h x 20§w x 4.5§ deep
  • Lifetime Warranty
  • Assembly Instructions

Antennas Direct provides customers with a 90-day, no-fault return guarantee on all Antennas Direct antennas and a lifetime warranty against failure, corrosion, defects in materials or workmanship.

You can go to antennapoint.com to see quickly what stations are available to them, the distance, and compass heading to help in choosing and aiming their antenna.

So, consider the value of being equipped to make an additional sale like carrying an HDMI cable (an easy sell) or an indoor/outdoor antenna (splitters and "J" pole) on the truck to piggyback an Off-Air antenna over the dish (while they're on the roof) and home run it on the one satellite cable or just add or replace an old indoor or attic antenna.

♂ TV Broadcaster*s Partner Program

TV Broadcaster*s Partner Program

The FCC recently put out their Order on DTV Education, which requires broadcasters to provide prescribed DTV education elements or to agree to adhere to NAB's voluntary "safe harbor" program. With that proposal, any broadcaster that participates in the NAB-backed plan and submits quarterly reporting forms will be deemed compliant with its obligations to inform the public about the upcoming DTV transition.

The plan calls for each station to engage and inform consumers via television with:

  • 30 or 60 second spots
  • 30-minute educational programs
  • Informational messages
  • Station online resources
  • Community events.

David K. Rehr, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) President and CEO said, "Cable or satellite subscriptions are not required for consumers to enjoy the benefits of digital television. With the proper antenna, consumers can receive free, over-the-air digital broadcasts with higher picture and sound quality and access to multiple channels of free programming. Broadcast viewers can also access interactive video and data services that are not possible with traditional analog technology, including enhanced closed-captioning."

Also, Antennas Direct will announce a fully supported TV Broadcast Partners Program?.

Antennas Direct*s Broadcast Partners Program? is an Off-Air antenna marketing program that will aid station viewers in selecting and purchasing the right digital antenna.

And how hot is HD High Definition Televisions bumped digital cameras out of the top spot for the most desired CE product for 2007. But bandwidth limitations mean that cable and satellite providers may not carry all local channels in many areas, or may not offer all of them in high definition. Contract disagreements between local cable operators and local broadcasters can mean that major networks may not be available via cable TV in several areas. DISH Network? offers local HD coverage to about 47 percent of U.S. markets, while DIRECTV reaches about 65 percent, but for an additional monthly fee.

About Antennas Direct

Antennas Direct is a St. Louis based manufacturer and distributor of terrestrial broadcast television (Off-Air) and wireless networking antennas. The company was founded by Richard Schneider in 2003 and has since been widely recognized for superior product design and performance by a number of industry publications and main stream media outlets. Having invested major resources into the discovery and implementation of the first new technological advances in television antenna design in decades, Antennas Direct launched its unique new Digital brand of Off-Air antennas in 2006.

The Digital lines of Off-Air antennas are designed to tune to the frequencies where most DTV broadcasts occur, doing a better job of rejecting interference. The results of the new designs have allowed them to produce smaller, more powerful antennas that combine optimized performance with a streamlined appearance, providing the best of both worlds. They continue to constantly test and modify antenna designs, raising the bar by which antenna performance and appearance are measured. For additional information on Antennas Direct, visit

The benefits of Off-Air antennas are compelling. But bandwidth limitations mean that cable and satellite providers may not carry all local channels in many areas, or may not offer all of them in high definition. Contract disagreements between local cable operators and local broadcasters can mean that major networks may not be available in several areas. DISH Network offers local HD coverage to about 47 percent of U.S. markets, while DIRECTV reaches about 76 percent, but for an additional monthly fee.

※What about those other millions of viewers who want to see their favorite local shows and in HD§ asks Schneider? ※The answer is to add an OTA antenna to other signal reception sources§. This not only gives a viewer the ability to receive all their local stations, but, with the right Digital antenna and location, some viewers may even be able to receive out-of-town channels, which may carry blacked out sports programs or network broadcasts not available in their home town. As an added benefit, an OTA antenna provides back-up reception options for local cable or satellite signal loss due to equipment failure or rain, snow and ice fade and to smaller TVs and second sets in homes not wired for whole-house signal distribution.
